Maximizing Your Point of Sale During the Holiday Season

Thankfully, your point of sale (POS) has some great tools to help you reduce your holiday load while also making sure customers know all about your great holiday offerings!

Create custom menus for your seasonal product offerings.

The holidays are hectic enough without having to worry about updating your product offering every day. Leverage a custom menus feature on your POS so you can focus on other things. Once you create your seasonal menu, you can set it to automatically appear on the point of sale or kiosk during certain days and/or times. For instance, if you’re cooking up a mouth-watering turkey that’s only available the week of Thanksgiving, easily create a custom menu to ensure the item is not available on the POS at any other time. 

Track your holiday sales with product classes.

When the holidays are over and you’re putting away the decorations, it’s hard enough to remember your own name let alone which holiday features were bestsellers. The remedy? Use product classes to easily track your holiday sales. For instance, create a product class called “Holiday Specials,” and then attach it to your seasonal items. Later, you can pull reports based on this product class to find your bestsellers. 

Promote your holiday specials on your CDS and kiosk.

Offer discounted prices to bulk buyers.

Include a free gift with select purchases to share the holiday spirit.

‘Tis the season of giving! Create a gift with purchase discount to offer your customers a little treat on the house. Entice customers with a free cranberry muffin with the purchase of a pumpkin spice latte (PSL), a free side dish with the purchase of a honey-baked ham, or a free cookie with the purchase of a holiday music album.
