Aunty Peg’s is a café that takes its craft very seriously. Opening in late 2014, the Collingwood café is complete with an arsenal of grinders, a custom-made Synesso espresso machine, three beer taps for cold brew and a bakery on the second level. Owner Nolan Hirte wanted to position the cafe as a venue that showcases his passion for coffee and well as his commitment to artisanal baking.
Jane Waring, manager of Aunty Peg’s says that Revel’s Stock Management System is particularly valuable as the business has both a retail and cafe element with complicated stock requirements.
“The Ingredient Management function is key for us as it helps monitor wastage and place orders with 100% accuracy,” says Jane. “We change our menu on a fortnightly basis and can build a new menu within Revel in around 30 minutes."
Jane says that the intuitive nature of Revel allows her team to process orders swiftly, freeing up time for staff to develop and nurture valuable customer relationships.
“How we interact with the system is great,” says Jane. “Revel saves the customer-facing staff valuable time which in turn allows them to interact directly with our customers.”
As a bustling cafe with such a complex suite of inventory, Aunty Peg’s required a point of sale system that worked for all aspects of their business.
